Hali, a young mare, arrived at Longmeadow alongside a group of neglected horses. Despite being in better condition than the others, it took time to earn her trust. Her kind eyes and markings have endeared her to staff members, and her sweet disposition makes her easy to handle on the ground. However, due to a previous injury to a trainer while under saddle, Longmeadow is taking their time to establish trust before evaluating her under saddle.
Hali has been diagnosed with recurrent uveitis, but she is manageable with eye medication and her flare-ups are minor. She gets along well with other horses and is easy to catch. Longmeadow believes she still carries bad memories from previous training and needs to be completely started over by a professional trainer. Despite her past, Hali’s sweet nature and curiosity make her a promising candidate for adoption.
ASPCA Right Horse is an online adoption platform that aims to increase horse adoption in the United States.
