Teagasc to Host Webinar on New Equine Stud Farm Manager Apprenticeship Program

Teagasc, in collaboration with key Irish equine industry organizations such as Horse Sport Ireland, Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association, and Coolmore Stud, has developed a three-year, work-based Equine Stud Farm Manager Apprenticeship. This innovative program combines practical experience with academic study, leading to a Level 7 Bachelor Degree, and aims to support the growth and sustainability of Ireland’s Thoroughbred and Sport Horse sectors by preparing apprentices for future management roles.

A webinar to discuss the apprenticeship and its benefits for employers and apprentices will be held on 21 May at 7pm. Industry and education leaders emphasize that graduates will be well-equipped to take on leadership positions within breeding and equine enterprises, thereby enhancing standards and securing the long-term success of the Irish equine breeding industry. The program is currently awaiting final approval from NAO and QQI.
