Roger Cimbora, Jr.’s homebred Twenty Six Black, a 6-year-old War Dancer gelding trained by Horacio De Paz, aims for a strong start to 2026 in Saturday’s $150,000 Listed Elusive Quality, a six-furlong turf sprint at Belmont Park. Twenty Six Black, who has steadily improved over four years with notable stakes wins including the Disco Partner and New York Turf Sprint Championship, has been freshened up over the winter and is showing promising workouts. De Paz praises the gelding’s consistency and professionalism, highlighting his ability to run well fresh despite his age.
Also competing are notable turf sprinters like Dancing Buck, an 8-year-old War Dancer gelding trained by Michelle Nevin, who seeks a repeat win after capturing the Elusive Quality in 2024, and Juddmonte’s 4-year-old Quality Road colt Spiced Up, trained by Bill Mott, looking to rebound after a mixed 2025 campaign. The race card at Belmont also features the Grade 3 Fort Marcy Stakes, with live coverage available on FOX Sports and betting through NYRA Bets.
