Red Gorilla Combined Training Championships 2026: Highlights and Winners at Weston Lawns Equestrian

The Red Gorilla Combined Training Championships held at Weston Lawns Equestrian in Warwickshire from May 8-10, 2026, showcased impressive performances across multiple dressage and showjumping classes. Highlights included Jane Willett winning the Introductory 1 and 60cm class with her Dartmoor pony Tia Maria X, scoring 74.455% in dressage and finishing with a final score of 166.0. Young rider Rose Cassapi excelled in the Preliminary 1 and 70cm class aboard Nanttforchog Blue Moonstar, achieving a 70.8% dressage score and a clear jumping round to win with 177.0 points. Anthony Clark, a seasoned eventer, took the Preliminary 2 and 80cm title with Ahey Bridge 36th, praising the event’s supportive atmosphere and excellent organization.

Other notable winners included Laura Hill, who dominated both Novice classes on her homebred mare LCH Etiquette, and Tabitha Leicester, who won the Elementary 1 and 80cm class riding Eires Rock. Millie Gover claimed the Elementary 2 and 90cm title with Kamil ‘T’, marking a successful return to competition after maternity leave. The championships were praised for their friendly environment, smooth running, and valuable experience for riders and horses alike, with many competitors aiming to progress to higher levels and regional championships in the coming season.
