Present during the shooting, Mary testified in Barisone’s defense during the 2022 trial, describing a tense and toxic environment at the farm, alleging false reports by Kanarek, and recounting Barisone’s actions before the shooting. Her testimony was also featured in Netflix’s documentary “Untold: The Shooting at Hawthorne Hill.”

Beyond the incident, Mary has built a successful career in dressage, running her own clinic and collaborating with major equestrian brands.
