Kentucky Humane Society to Close East Campus and Build New 54,000-Square-Foot Facility

The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) announced it will close its East Campus at 1000 Lyndon Lane by July 26 as part of a larger plan to consolidate operations into a new 54,000-square-foot animal and community campus. This move is a phase of their “ALL IN” campaign, which involves selling existing properties—including the Behavior Retreat and Eastpoint Pet Resort—and using the proceeds to fund the new facility. While the East Campus closes, adoptions will continue at the Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center on Steedly Drive.

The new KHS campus, located near the Preston Highway interchange with Interstates 264 and 65, will offer expanded space for animals, a public veterinary clinic, and pet support services. KHS President and CEO Alisa Gray expressed gratitude for community support, emphasizing that the new facility will better serve both animals and people in Kentucky. The East Campus property is expected to be sold later this summer.
