At just 16, Julia Obenour has established herself as a top equestrian, ranking fifth nationally among half-Arabian riders and earning two national championships. Training six days a week in Loxahatchee Groves, she competes across multiple disciplines including hunters, equitation, and dressage, balancing rigorous training with school thanks to the flexibility of Grandview Preparatory School. Riding not only fuels her competitive success but also helps her manage anxiety, providing a personal sanctuary.
Coming from a family with a strong equestrian and veterinary background, Obenour is continuing a legacy while aiming to compete at the collegiate level, inspired by mentors in college programs. Her next major competition is the Arabian Region 12 Championships in early May at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, where she will compete with her horses Resilient and Clementine.
