Several horse lovers are supporting equine charities by running in the upcoming London Marathon. Among them is Adam Blackmore-Heal, a former Household Cavalry soldier and photographer who recently completed a 50km ultra-marathon and is raising funds for Brooke, inspired by his experiences working with horses and witnessing their struggles in Ethiopia. Equine vet Ben Portus, a long-time Brooke supporter, is also running, motivated by his veterinary work and firsthand visits to Brooke’s projects. International showjumper Chloe Lemieux, along with three others, is running for World Horse Welfare, a charity close to her heart due to her lifelong connection with horses and her family’s equestrian background.

These runners exemplify dedication to equine welfare, combining personal challenges with fundraising efforts to support charities like Brooke, World Horse Welfare, and The Donkey Sanctuary. Their efforts highlight the vital role these organizations play in rescuing, rehabilitating, and educating about working horses and donkeys worldwide.
