Constance Mae “Connie” Nelson, born April 23, 1956, in Greeley, Colorado, passed away on December 19, 2025, at age 69. Raised in Greeley, she was deeply involved in 4H and the Greeley Saddle Club, developing a lifelong passion for horses and dogs. Connie was a professional barrel racer who earned numerous awards and dedicated herself to training horses and young riders. She also enjoyed crafting western-themed items such as clothes, halters, and horse blankets.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands and is survived by her siblings, step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. A celebration of her life will be held on May 2, 2026, at Evans VFW Post 6624. In lieu of flowers, donations to dog or horse rescues are encouraged to honor her memory.
