Top Riders from 16 Nations Set to Compete at Belsay International Horse Trials 2026

The Belsay International Horse Trials, held from May 15-17 and sponsored by Barbour, will feature top riders from 16 nations competing in the prestigious Houghton Country CCI4-S class, which has over 100 entries. Highlighted competitors include European champions and Olympic gold medallists Laura Collett with London 52, reigning world champions Yasmin Ingham and Banzai Du Loir, and other elite riders such as Ros Canter, Caroline Harris, and Piggy March. The event serves as a key stepping stone for riders aiming for the FEI World Eventing Championships and includes additional classes like the Chaser Communications Advanced, Forsters CCI3-S, and N.I.S Ltd CCI2*-S, featuring a mix of seasoned Olympians and promising newcomers.

Belsay Horse Trials also offers a wide range of activities beyond competition, including grassroots events, showjumping, arena eventing, and family-friendly attractions like the Dachshund Derby and a special demonstration on equine therapy. The event is part of the Northumberland Challenge series and provides various ticketing options, including memberships and picnic parking with scenic views. Cross-country action will be livestreamed on Horse & Country TV, making the event accessible to a broad audience while celebrating the equestrian spirit and Northumbrian heritage.
