Kiwi equestrian Tim Price overcame a broken collarbone to achieve a remarkable silver medal at the 2026 Badminton Horse Trials. Starting 10th after dressage, he improved to sixth in cross country and then jumped clear to secure second place with his 17-year-old gelding, Falco. Price credits his upbringing on a Canterbury farm and a family deeply involved with horses for his passion and success in the sport. Now based in rural Dorset, England, he and his wife Jonelle, also a top New Zealand eventer, have represented their country together at multiple Olympics.
Despite the injury, Price kept his condition private and expressed satisfaction with Falco’s performance, noting the horse’s impressive record including a sixth-place finish at the Paris Olympics. While Falco may be nearing the end of his competitive career, Price is focused on upcoming events like the World Championships in Aachen and possibly the Burghley Horse Trials, aiming to showcase Falco’s enduring talent.
