The Cat Lounge, located in Mount Ephraim on the Black Horse Pike, is a newly opened cat adoption and rescue center operated by Sara Sharpe’s Community Cat Club. The lounge offers a beautifully remodeled, inviting space where visitors can relax and interact with adoptable cats in two themed rooms featuring climbing structures and play areas. The nonprofit focuses on rescuing neighborhood cats, providing medical care, and facilitating adoptions, supported by visitor fees that serve as donations. Guests are encouraged to reserve visits online, and the lounge currently operates Thursday through Sunday with plans to expand hours.
Sara Sharpe, who has over eight years of experience in animal welfare, founded Community Cat Club in 2020, initially running it from a small garage before moving to this larger, permanent location. The Cat Lounge also enhances community engagement through social media profiles for each cat, highlighting their personalities and compatibility with other pets and children. The center aims to create a therapeutic environment benefiting both cats and visitors while sustaining its rescue mission through donations and adoption efforts.
