Tamie Smith made history by becoming the first rider to win both the CCI5-L (earlier in 2023) and the CCI4-S at Kentucky, securing her CCI4*-S victory aboard Molly Duda’s 10-year-old Holsteiner mare, Lillet 3. Smith delivered a flawless double-clear show jumping round without any time penalties, setting her apart from other competitors. Her strategic and confident ride, guided by coach Scott Keach, allowed her to meet the challenging time requirements and clinch the win, with Will Coleman and Mia Farley rounding out the top three.
Will Coleman also had a strong weekend, winning the CCI5-L and placing second and fifth in the CCI4-S with Very Dignified and Fahrenheit Addict, respectively. Coleman praised Very Dignified’s class and temperament despite a less-than-ideal dressage score. Meanwhile, Mia Farley expressed satisfaction with her performance on Invictus, noting her growth in managing nerves and riding confidently on the final day. Overall, the event showcased impressive performances and competitive spirit among top riders and their horses.
