Suzanne Laukka, beloved wife of Donald W. Laukka for 57 years, passed away leaving behind a legacy of intelligence, kindness, and dedication. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1964 and earned a BA in history from the University of Minnesota in 1968. After marrying Donald, they lived in Springfield, Massachusetts, where Donald served as an Air Force officer. Upon returning to Minnesota, Suzanne worked for the U.S. Federal Courts, assisting prominent judges Miles W. Lord and Diana E. Murphy, both of whom served as Chief Judges for the District of Minnesota, with Judge Murphy later serving on the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Suzanne was deeply loved for her intellect, beauty, and warmth, with a passion for reading and a broad knowledge base. A memorial service will be held on June 6, 2026, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to her favorite charities, including The Cheetah Conservation Fund, World Wildlife Fund, African Wildlife Foundation, or Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue.
