RSPCA Experts to Present Equine Rescue and Welfare at Understand Horses Live 2026

Three leading RSPCA experts in equine welfare and large animal rescue—Head Vet Roxane Kirton, Water and Large Animal Rescue Lead Jason Finch, and Learning and Development Advisor Mark Buggie—will speak at the Understand Horses Live 2026 event at Reaseheath College in Nantwich on June 27-28. Their sessions will cover topics such as behaviour-related medications, emergency rescue principles, and practical large animal rescue techniques, including live demonstrations on safely managing trapped or injured horses.

The event attracts a diverse audience of vets, trainers, welfare professionals, and horse owners interested in evidence-based equine care. Organiser Justine Harrison highlighted the value of the RSPCA specialists’ expertise, which combines veterinary, behavioural, and rescue knowledge to improve horse welfare during emergencies and recovery. More information and tickets are available on the Understand Horses website.
