Diane Brown’s 50-year journey with dogs began at age 13 when she started grooming and training her own pets, evolving from traditional, force-based methods to positive, reward-based techniques. Inspired by mentors and extensive training, including international certification as a professional dog trainer, she founded Dogwood Pet Lodge in 1998. There, she offers classes focused on kindness and respect, emphasizing the importance of building strong relationships between dogs and their owners through “Do No Harm” training.
Over the years, Brown has expanded her expertise by learning from various animal trainers and caring for many breeds, which deepened her understanding of canine behavior. She provides a range of services from basic obedience and puppy classes to private lessons addressing behavioral issues like anxiety and aggression. Her dedication has made a significant impact on the community, helping dogs and their owners achieve happy, well-behaved homes.
