Great Britain’s Ros Canter and her horse Lordships Graffalo, known as Walter, made history by winning the Mars Badminton Horse Trials for the third time, a record achievement in the event’s 77-year history. Leading after dressage and a clean cross-country round, they maintained their lead despite incurring two time faults in show jumping, finishing with a score of 25.7. Walter also became the only horse to achieve five CCI5* wins in his career, solidifying his status as one of the greatest in the sport.
New Zealand’s Tim Price and Falco moved up to second place with a clear show jumping round, while Harry Meade and Annaghmore Valoner finished third after a rail fault dropped them from second. Canter expressed hope that her historic win would inspire young riders to believe in their dreams and perform well under pressure. U.S. competitors Cosby Green and Tiana Coudray finished 22nd and 40th respectively.
