Penn’s Cave Expands Educational Wildlife Programs and Introduces New Wild Horse Sage

Penn’s Cave and Wildlife Park in Centre County, Pennsylvania, has been offering educational and nature-based experiences for over 140 years, including its unique all-water cavern tours and wildlife encounters. Recently, the park has expanded its educational offerings through partnerships with organizations like Centre Wildlife Care, which rehabilitates injured wildlife, and the Wildlife For Everyone Foundation, which supports habitat conservation. The park also hosts family-friendly events such as an annual picnic featuring wildlife education and activities like skeet shooting and axe throwing, alongside presentations about wild horses and burros through Gentled Hearts stable.

In addition to its historic cavern tours, Penn’s Cave has introduced mountain tours across its 1,400-acre estate, where visitors can observe native wildlife such as black bears, bobcats, and bald eagles. The park continues to grow its wild horse program, recently welcoming Sage, a six-year-old paint horse adopted through a Department of Forestry initiative. Penn’s Cave remains a distinctive destination that combines natural history, wildlife conservation, and outdoor adventure, offering educational and recreational opportunities for families and nature enthusiasts alike.
