Wild Hearts Farm, a family-run equine rescue in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, is dedicated to saving horses from the slaughter pipeline that transports American horses to Canada and Mexico for killing. Owner Lindsay Wiczek has rescued nine horses and relies on community support to care for them. The farm recently held a fundraising event, with local businesses like Deja Brew Coffee contributing proceeds, to support their ongoing efforts and raise money for a new barn, especially to accommodate a pregnant horse.
In addition to rescue work, Wild Hearts Farm offers riding lessons, camps, and birthday parties, with all proceeds benefiting the horses. The farm emphasizes providing extra care for special needs animals like Sugarfoot, a pony with one blind eye and asthma, highlighting their commitment to the well-being of each rescue.
