Wild Hearts Farm, a family-run equine rescue in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, is dedicated to saving horses from the slaughter pipeline that transports American horses to Canada and Mexico for slaughter. Owner Lindsay Wiczek has rescued nine horses, including two ponies, Pal and Sugarfoot, who attended a recent fundraising event. The event, supported by local business Deja Brew Coffee, aimed to raise money for building a new barn, especially to accommodate a newly pregnant horse needing extra care.
In addition to rescue efforts, Wild Hearts Farm offers riding lessons, camps, and birthday parties, with all proceeds benefiting the horses. Wiczek emphasizes the community’s role in supporting the farm’s mission and the importance of providing safe, loving environments for the rescued equines.
