Kevin Kohmann of Wellington, Florida, delivered an impressive performance at the TerraNova Equestrian Center CDI3* Grand Prix on May 1, 2026, securing first and third places. Riding Diamante Farms’s 11-year-old mare Sonata MF in their CDI debut, Kohmann topped the class with a score of 69.761%, marking a standout achievement for the youngest horse in the field. Kohmann also placed third on Famous, a 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding, while U.S. riders dominated the top six positions. Kohmann praised the venue for its excellent conditions and expressed excitement about continuing to ride Sonata and Famous, with an eye toward future competitions including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Sarah Tubman earned second place aboard the 17-year-old Hanoverian Dow Jones 1 with a new personal best of 68.783%. Kohmann credited his wife, Devon Kane, and friend Tarryn Hartnett for preparing Sonata and Famous, respectively, allowing him to shine in the competition. Looking ahead, Kohmann plans to compete with Famous in the CDI3 Grand Prix Freestyle and with Sonata in the CDI3 FEI Grand Prix Special, both at TerraNova, as he continues to build momentum in his dressage career.
