Indian Rock and Christian Simonson Ready for US Grand Prix Championships After Passing Vet Check

The 2026 U.S. Grand Prix Championships, held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida, mark the first head-to-head competition among top American Grand Prix riders in 12 years. Sixteen of the 17 invited horse-and-rider pairs passed the veterinary check, with notable competitors including Christian Simonson on Indian Rock, who holds the highest Grand Prix average and was reserve champion at the recent World Cup Final. The event serves as a key selection opportunity for the U.S. team heading to the World Championships in Aachen, Germany, in August, though Olympic qualification for Los Angeles 2028 is already secured for the U.S. team.

The competition schedule features the Grand Prix on Wednesday morning, followed by the Special on Thursday and the Freestyle on Saturday night. The lineup includes prominent riders such as Jordan LaPlaca, Sarah Tubman, and Ashley Holzer, among others. This championship is a critical step in determining the team for the upcoming European circuit and the World Championships, with riders aiming to meet performance standards and secure their spots for international competition.
