The Humane Society of Greater Dayton recently rescued over 40 cats and kittens from a severely neglected and overcrowded RV in Trotwood, Ohio. The RV was in disrepair, with holes in the ceiling letting rain in, and floors covered in mud, feces, and debris, creating a hazardous environment. Many kittens showed signs of respiratory infections due to poor air quality, highlighting the dangerous conditions. This rescue adds to the more than 300 animals the agency has saved from harmful situations this year.
The Humane Society is urgently seeking foster homes, especially for mother cats with young kittens, as they focus on the animals’ treatment, recovery, and rehoming. Brian Weltge, the agency’s president and CEO, emphasized that no animal can thrive in such environments and stressed the importance of providing safe, loving homes for the rescued animals. Those interested in fostering can contact the organization directly to help.
