Horses have been introduced in Palia as the first mounts with the Royal Highlands expansion, a vast adventure zone featuring ancient ruins ideal for horseback exploration. To get your first horse, players must complete the “Before the Dawn” quest for Hassian, which involves freeing a horse named Dawnspur trapped in Amber Echo and then gathering Dawnspur Lily flowers. Access to the Royal Highlands requires completing the “Like a Bird” quest and traveling from De Mer Docks in Elderwood.

Once unlocked, players can equip their horse from the tools menu and control its speed using basic controls, with a stamina bar that depletes faster at higher speeds but can be replenished by collecting glowing stamina charges while riding. This new mount system enhances exploration and adds fresh gameplay mechanics to Palia.
