Gretchen F. Kay, born October 28, 1934, in Morris, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was married to Clinton Kay for 64 years until his death in 2019. Gretchen had a passion for horses and dogs, which she shared as a 4H leader. She worked for over 15 years with the US Postal Service and also served as a bus driver for the Goodfarm school district.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members. Gretchen was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, parents, and several in-laws. A visitation and celebration of her life will be held on April 22, 2026, at U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery. The family has set up an online guestbook for sharing memories and condolences.
