A Shire horse in Essex was rescued by firefighters after slipping into water. The Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s urban search and rescue team, along with specialist water officers and crews from Bishops Stortford, responded to the owner’s call for help.
The horse was sedated by a vet to ensure its safety during the rescue. Using a telehandler to create a path, the teams successfully slid the horse out of the water. After being checked by the vet, the horse was returned to the care of its owner.
