A horse named Max was rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped in deep mud within a steep-sided gully in Denchworth, north of Wantage. Found lying exhausted on his side in the mud and running water, Max required assistance from crews across four fire stations.
Working alongside a local vet, the Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service used specialist equipment to safely extract Max from the narrow channel. Following the rescue, Max was reported to be tired but quickly regained his footing and recovered from the ordeal.
