Caithness Pony Club riders had an impressive showing at the Pony Club Spring Festival championships in Kilmarnock, competing against around 350 participants from across Scotland. Despite strong competition, including classes with up to 80 combinations, the Caithness team achieved notable successes over the three-day event. Highlights included championship wins for Ava Bain on Magnum and Leoni Kennedy on Kinda in arena eventing and showjumping, with both also securing reserve champion titles. Megan Gillon and Ozzy earned reserve champion in PC80 arena eventing and placed fourth in PC90, while Eliza Mackenzie and Cruise achieved top 10 dressage finishes.

The team also performed well in showjumping, finishing sixth overall, with Megan and Ozzy placing 11th and Eliza and Cruise 42nd in the three-day league. District commissioner Lisa Kennedy praised the riders’ dedication and talent, calling the results a fantastic achievement for the branch.
