British Olympian Charlotte Dujardin has sold her 12-year-old Westphalian mare, Alive and Kicking, to Rosalind Oatley, mother of Australian Olympian Kristy Oatley and grandmother of German Young Rider Rose Oatley. The ownership change was officially updated in the Fédération Équestre Internationale database, marking the second transfer this year after Dujardin became the sole owner in March following the removal of previous co-owners Carl Hester and Ulrike Bachinger.
Alive and Kicking was instrumental in Dujardin’s comeback to top-level dressage following her one-year suspension in 2024, helping her secure a supplementary qualifying spot for the FEI dressage World Cup Finals. The mare was also expected to be part of Dujardin’s campaign for the British team at the upcoming FEI World Championships. Kristy and Rose Oatley, who now own the mare, are based in Germany but compete under Australian and German flags, respectively.
