Carla Jackson Takes on 62-Mile Ultra-Marathon to Raise Funds for Air Ambulance Charity

Carla Jackson, who was airlifted to hospital after a serious horse riding accident on the England-Wales border, is undertaking a 62-mile ultra-marathon today to raise funds for the County Air Ambulance HELP appeal. Having previously raised over £2,500 for air ambulance charities through various endurance challenges, Carla aims to mark the 20th anniversary of her rescue by completing the Gower Peninsula 100km Ultra-Marathon. Despite suffering a brain injury in a separate horse riding accident two years ago, she has trained rigorously and is determined to finish this toughest challenge yet.

Carla’s fundraising efforts honor the vital role the air ambulance service played in her recovery, especially as the HELP Appeal funds helipads at hospitals and air ambulance bases across the UK. Her past challenges include ultra-marathons and long-distance walks, and she continues to push her limits to support the charity. Carla emphasizes the importance of remembering why she undertakes these grueling events and expresses gratitude for the opportunity to give back to the service that saved her life.
