The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Montana/Dakotas is hosting the Bitterroot Valley Wild Horse & Burro Adoption Event from June 27-29 at the Matt Bischof Training Facility in Hamilton, Montana. The event features over 40 wild horses and burros available for adoption, with free public admission. Adoption sessions run from 3-7 p.m. on June 27 and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on June 28 and 29, with a Mustang Matt “Next Steps” Clinic held on June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Patrick Merrill, BLM Wild Horse & Burro Coordinator, emphasizes that adopting these animals is a meaningful experience that builds a strong bond through patience and training. Interested adopters can submit applications in advance via the Wild Horse and Burro Online Corral. The event takes place at 736 Alvista Loop, Hamilton.
