The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Montana/Dakotas is hosting the Bitterroot Valley Wild Horse & Burro Adoption Event from June 27-29 at the Matt Bischof Training Facility in Hamilton, Montana. The event will feature over 40 wild horses and burros available for adoption, with free admission to the public. Adoption sessions will run on a first-come, first-served basis, with specific hours each day, and a Mustang Matt “Next Steps” Clinic will be held on June 29.
Patrick Merrill, BLM Montana/Dakotas Wild Horse & Burro Coordinator, emphasized that adopting these animals is a meaningful experience that builds a strong bond through patience and training. Interested adopters can apply in advance online via the Wild Horse and Burro Online Corral. The facility is located at 736 Alvista Loop in Hamilton.
