The Royal Windsor Horse Show 2026, traditionally held in the UK, commenced with Azerbaijan participating for the first time, represented by a 150-member delegation supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and organized by the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation. A highlight of the event was the show composition “Azerbaijan – Land of Fire,” which showcased the beauty of Karabakh horses, Azerbaijani dances, national music, and orchestral performances. The State Border Service’s dance ensemble and cavalry unit, featuring 23 Karabakh horses, received a standing ovation, with the production led by prominent Azerbaijani artists and musicians.
The event also featured a colorful performance based on the operetta Arshin Mal Alan, a masterpiece by composer Uzeyir Hajibayli, demonstrating the richness of Azerbaijani classical music. English King Charles III attended the event, warmly welcoming the Azerbaijani delegation and showing great interest in the performances. Skilled actors portrayed key characters from the operetta, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience. Azerbaijani performances will continue through May 17, including a polo match by the “Land of Fire” team.
