BGC Williams Lake is inviting local youth aged 8 to 13 to participate in its revamped Youth Mountain Bike Program, designed to help young riders build skills, confidence, and community while exploring the extensive mountain biking trails around Williams Lake. Despite the area’s well-established trail network, many youth face barriers such as lack of access to bikes, skills, or knowledge of where to start. The five-week program, running from May 12 to June 10, offers skill-based sessions on Tuesday evenings for all youth and Wednesday evenings specifically for girls, with bikes and helmets provided on a limited basis.
Led by program leader Ruth Lloyd and mountain biker Tobias Baumann, the initiative aims to create a supportive, community-led experience that encourages outdoor engagement and safe riding on varied terrain. The cost is $50 for the full program, with financial aid available to ensure inclusivity. Interested participants can register by contacting BGC Williams Lake directly.
