Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo Make History with Third Badminton Horse Trials Victory

Ros Canter and her horse Lordships Graffalo made history by winning the MARS Badminton Horse Trials for the third time, a first in the event’s 77-year history. Canter secured the victory with a composed show jumping round, incurring only two time penalties and finishing with a comfortable 10.2 penalty lead, earning the £125,000 prize. The 14-year-old British Sport Horse delivered a flawless performance, impressing with his calmness and agility throughout the competition.

New Zealander Tim Price claimed second place with Falco after an excellent clear round, while Harry Meade, despite a fence down, finished third. Other notable performances included Tom Jackson in fourth and Katie Magee in fifth, both achieving career-best results. Harry Meade praised Canter’s technical skill and composure under pressure, highlighting her legacy in the sport. The best-placed U.S. rider was Cosby Green, finishing 22nd on Jos Ufo de Quidam.
