Since the war in Ukraine began in February 2022, PETA Germany and its partners have been risking their lives to save animals in need. With the support of the Global Compassion Fund, teams have been working tirelessly to rescue animals affected by the conflict, including horses and dogs struggling for survival on an abandoned farm near Russian forces.
The PETA-backed team had to use sleeping pills to calm down distressed dogs and safely evacuate them from the farm, where missiles had caused chaos. Despite the challenges, the team managed to rescue the animals just in time, loading the horses onto a trailer and escaping as a drone struck the property.
PETA’s Global Compassion Fund, supported by individual contributions, has been instrumental in saving over 20,000 animals in Ukraine since the war began. Your support helps PETA entities and partners create positive, sustainable change for animals in need, making the world a better place for all sentient beings. Please consider donating to continue this important work.
