The rescue team successfully lifted Matsie out of the basement using a pulley system, reuniting her with her family and friends.

El Dorado Search and Rescue shared details of the mission on Facebook, highlighting the collaboration between the response groups and the successful outcome of the rescue. The team’s dedication and training paid off, with technical equipment donated by Halter Project being critically needed for the rescue. Photos from the rescue show the crew lifting the large animal through a narrow opening in the silo.

Despite the ordeal, Matsie is now safe and sound after being rescued from the grain silo basement. The rescue team’s efforts and collaboration were crucial in ensuring the horse’s safety, and it is hoped that Matsie will not find herself in any more tight spaces in the future.
