Happy, a special stallion in the barrel racing industry, was laid to rest over the weekend. Born in 2002, he was the offspring of Fire Water Flit and Rock N Roll Rona, a cross that proved to be successful in producing exceptional barrel horses. Happy’s success in futurities and professional rodeos, as well as his offspring’s achievements, solidified his legacy in the sport.
Owned by Robyn Herring, Happy was trained and exhibited by Herring before being ridden by Latricia Duke for his futurity season. Despite initial struggles with focus, Duke was able to help Happy reach his full potential as a successful barrel horse. Happy’s success in the arena, including wins at major rodeos, showcased his talent and determination.
Happy’s offspring, such as Firewatermakesmehappy “Junior,” SR Industry Titan, and Lena On The Rocks, have continued his legacy by achieving success in barrel racing competitions, including National Finals rodeo qualifications. The loss of Happy is mourned by the barrel racing community, as he leaves behind a lasting impact on the sport through his exceptional performance and the success of his offspring.
