Riders from Santa Barbara County and beyond gathered in Solvang on Saturday to receive blessings at Mission Santa Inés before beginning the 96th annual Rancheros Visitadores ride, a four-day horseback journey. The event featured a parade down Alisal Road, bringing together riders, horses, and wagons in a vibrant celebration of history, culture, and the cowboy spirit.
The parade attracted large crowds, including families and local officials like Solvang Mayor Dave Brown, who mingled with attendees. Highlights included the Santa Maria High School marching band leading the procession, participants distributing flags and beads, and enthusiastic spectators lining the streets to enjoy the festive atmosphere. The event underscored the community’s appreciation for tradition and the enduring legacy of the ranching lifestyle.
