Porth Gwyrdd Supports Young People in Wales with Training, Volunteering, and Work Opportunities

Porth Gwyrdd is a free support project aimed at helping young people aged 16-30 in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and Powys transition into training, volunteering, and paid work opportunities. The initiative focuses on individuals who may be uncertain about their future, facing barriers such as disabilities or ethnic minority status, and offers personalized one-to-one guidance tailored to their interests and strengths. Participants can access a range of opportunities in sectors like hospitality, retail, conservation, farming, and heritage, with support from dedicated job coaches.

The project is delivered through a partnership of local organizations and funded by the Dormant Assets Scheme via The National Lottery Community Fund. It also collaborates with employers to foster inclusive workplaces and develop a diverse, sustainable workforce. Porth Gwyrdd emphasizes building confidence and skills in young people, helping them realize their potential while promoting accessibility and meaningful engagement.
