North Dakota campers can now plan trips to Pembina Gorge State Park and Rough Rider State Park, with reservations opening May 5. Pembina Gorge, the state’s newest park, will begin camping on June 9, offering discounted fees and campsites equipped with electrical, water, and some sewer hookups. The park features rugged terrain and trails for hiking, biking, OHV, and horseback riding, with a dedication event scheduled for June 3. Rough Rider State Park’s redesigned campground will open July 7, adding more campsites with similar amenities, though construction of comfort stations is ongoing at both parks.
In Minnesota, anglers can access regional fishing outlooks ahead of the May 9 opener, highlighting opportunities for species like walleye, bluegill, crappie, bass, and northern pike. Additionally, the Minnesota DNR sought public input on the readability and usability of its annual hunting, trapping, and fishing regulations books through a webinar and feedback submissions by May 7. Copies of these regulations are available online and at license vendors.
