The Meeker County Senior Hippology Team won first place at the Minnesota State 4-H Horse Show, competing against 20 other senior teams. The contest included a written exam, stations phase, team problem, and judging live classes of horses. The Meeker County team excelled in all categories, with Emma Skaggs placing first overall in individual scoring.
The team, made up of Emma Skaggs, Melanie Soderlund, Kaitlyn Frenchick, and Madeline VanderMey, will represent Meeker County and the Minnesota State 4-H horse program at the 4-H Western National Roundup in Denver, Colorado in January. The team’s success at the state level has earned them the opportunity to compete at a national level and showcase their knowledge of horses and horse-related subjects. The team’s strong performance in all phases of the competition demonstrates their expertise and dedication to the sport.
