Madame Obey, Daughter of Tiz The Law, Impresses in Woodbine Debut

Madame Obey, a daughter of Tiz the Law, won a Woodbine Allowance Optional Claiming race on debut, showcasing her talent and professionalism. Trained by Josie Carroll, the filly raced widest of a three horse grouping before making her move in the stretch to pass the leader, Nata Trouble, and secure the victory. Madame Obey was purchased for $200,000 at the OBS April sale and is owned by Mark Dodson.

Bred in Kentucky by Charles and Caroline Hynes, Madame Obey is out of the Grade II placed City Sister, who has produced several successful offspring including Grade II winner Dixie City and stakes winner Win The War. Tiz the Law, the sire of Madame Obey, leads all freshman sires in 2024 with five stakes winners, two graded stakes winners, and four graded stakes performers. City Sister’s lineage includes multiple stakes winners and Grade II-placed horses, showcasing the success of her breeding program.

Madame Obey’s victory at Woodbine highlights the potential of Tiz the Law’s offspring and the success of City Sister as a broodmare. With a strong pedigree and impressive performance on debut, Madame Obey is poised for a successful racing career under the guidance of trainer Josie Carroll.
