Korea Racing Authority and Rural Development Administration Sign MOU to Develop Horse and Livestock Industries

The Korea Racing Authority and the Rural Development Administration have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaboratively develop Korea’s horse and livestock industries, focusing on expanding equine-assisted therapy services amid growing mental health needs in an aging society. Their partnership will cover the creation and dissemination of customized therapy programs, enhancement of riding horse training and distribution, and establishment of a production and supply system for domestically produced hot air-dried hay to support horse farms.

The Rural Development Administration will lead research to develop integrated therapy models combining equine-assisted therapy and horticulture, while the Korea Racing Authority will promote these programs and support their industrialization. Both organizations aim to stabilize feed supply through domestic hay production and boost the horse industry’s competitiveness by linking scientific research with practical field applications, ultimately expanding therapy services and revitalizing the riding horse sector.
