Jordan LaPlaca achieved a personal best riding Gold Play to win the CDI4 Grand Prix at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida, scoring 69.935%. This marked their first competition at the venue’s main arena and their first CDI4 since beginning Big Tour at Wellington earlier in the year. LaPlaca praised Gold Play’s composure and fluidity during the test, highlighting the horse’s steady mindset despite the intense competition atmosphere. The victory boosts LaPlaca’s ranking in the Dutta Corp. standings from 10th to 7th and sets a positive tone ahead of the upcoming U.S. Grand Prix championships at the same venue, which will influence selections for the World Championships in Aachen.
Close behind LaPlaca were Kasey Perry-Glass on Heartbeat W.P. with 69.674% and Ashley Holzer on Hawtins San Floriana with 69.152%. LaPlaca, based in Connecticut, expressed excitement about Gold Play’s development and potential for further success. The pair is set to compete in their first Big Tour Freestyle the following evening, continuing their promising trajectory in international dressage competition.
