Islay Dog Rescue, founded by Lorraine Jardine in 2011 near Cumnock, has saved over 1,500 dogs from death and continues to face high demand for dog rehoming. To accommodate more dogs, the team plans to build new kennel facilities, aiming to raise £10,000 for the expansion. A sponsored sleepout has already raised half of the needed funds.
To further support fundraising, volunteers will participate in a charity walk up Cairn Table on August 24, targeting an additional £3,500. Lorraine Jardine encourages public support through donations and sponsorships to help complete the kennel project and continue saving more dogs.
