The 2026 Houston Livestock Show and rodeo Parade took place in downtown Houston, featuring decorative floats, marching bands, wagons, trail riders, and horses. The parade route started at Walker St. and Bagby St., winding through several downtown streets before finishing back at Bagby. This year’s grand marshal was U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Scott Ruskan, recognized for his heroic rescues during the Texas Hill Country flash floods and ongoing service in Gulf Coast search-and-rescue operations.
The Houston Livestock Show and rodeo Parade is a long-standing tradition dating back to 1938, marking the start of rodeo season in Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city. ABC13 has broadcast the parade since 1959, strengthening its connection to the event. The Houston Livestock Show and rodeo itself is the largest livestock exhibition and rodeo worldwide, with the 2026 rodeo scheduled for March 2-22.
