The Horse Racing Women’s Association (HRWA) is expanding its “Day at the Races” series to Century Mile Racetrack and Casino in Edmonton, Alberta, on July 11. The event will feature an afternoon of racing, networking, education, and community-building focused on women in horse racing. Highlights include a panel discussion with prominent women in the industry, a handicapping seminar and contest, and opportunities to connect with professionals and fans. Century Mile boasts one of the highest representations of female Thoroughbred trainers in Canada, with women making up 33 percent of trainers.

The event is supported by Horse Racing Alberta and offers convenient travel options, including proximity to Edmonton International Airport and shuttle services to the host hotel and racetrack. Early-bird ticket purchasers can save $20 until June 9. The panel, titled “HerWay Talk,” will include notable figures such as Jodie Vella-Gregory, Barbara Anderson-Heads, Hazel Bennett, and Jodie Hiesinger, moderated by Stephanie Hronis.
