The Horses and Ponies Protection Association (HAPPA) has introduced the HAPPA Hoof & Hearts Awards, the first animal-focused awards in the North West, to celebrate rescued animals and the people and organizations dedicated to animal welfare. The awards recognize the resilience of rescued animals and the profound bonds they form with humans, highlighting categories such as Rescue of the Year, Animal Rescue Centre of the Year, and the Horsepower Hero Award. Nominations are open to charities, non-profits, businesses, and individuals across Lancashire, Yorkshire, and beyond, with voting closing on May 20.

The awards ceremony will take place on September 26 at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Spa & Hotel, bringing together pet owners, animal advocates, rescue staff, and equestrian communities for an evening of recognition and celebration.
