The Farmers Union Horse Company held its Spring Hunter Derby on April 11 at the Heyser Field Riding Ring in Fairview Village, Worcester Township, with about 50 riders participating. Preparation began in January, with young members building new jumps for the event. The community played a significant role in supporting the derby, including local EMS, fire, police, and township supervisors. The event featured multiple competition classes, from cross rail to 2’6” derbies, with winners recognized across various categories, including special awards for high point rounds and trainers.
Founded in 1834, the Farmers Union has a long history of supporting Montgomery County’s farming and equine communities through horse shows and local events. The organization expressed gratitude to sponsors such as Equus Bella LLC and Weigner Insurance & Financial Services, and announced their next event, the 86th Annual Horse Show, scheduled for June 6.
